Dear Parents/Carers,

As you know the government announced that schools will be closing to the majority of pupils at the end of the school day.  We will re-open on Monday 23rd but only for children who we have ascertained are in the Key Worker Group or are classed as vulnerable (We will contact you later today via text). We need this number to be as low as possible in order to keep staffing levels as high as we can for as long as possible. If you are not on the Key Worker list identified by the Government, school will be closed.

If you are on the list but can manage the situation without affecting vulnerable groups then please follow the government advice to keep children at home.

Children should NOT attend at all if they or any of your family exhibits any symptoms as previously noted in detail. Self-Isolation for 14 days applies here.

For those children who will be staying at home from next week, the class pages on our website will be updated regularly with work and website links for the children to access so they have plenty to entertain them while also enabling them to learn at home.  ActiveLearn will continue to provide leveled books for children to read along with a range of other resources.  We also would encourage children to continue using Purple Mash and MyMaths (KS2). All children will be sent home with a blank exercise book and their teachers will be blogging through the website with challenges.  We appreciate that circumstances may change and we will not be enforcing that this work has to be completed.   For us, reading daily is the most important thing a child can do at home.

Please be aware that telephone messages may not be monitored regularly due to staffing.  If parents have any urgent questions or queries they can contact school via email on and someone will reply as soon as possible during school hours.  We will keep updating our website ( with the latest information.

We appreciate this is a difficult time and want to reassure you that we are here to support you and your families if needed.  It has been lovely to have received so many offers of support from our school family showing you all understand the nature of the challenges our staff are facing and how we are already supporting one another.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding during these uncertain times. We will endeavor to keep you updated as best we can.

Stay safe and see you all soon.

Mrs N Robinson
