Sacramental Preparation

Preparation to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, sometimes referred to as First Holy Communion, is delivered within a child’s parish through a Family Catechesis approach. Our local parishes use the Archdiocesan Sacramental preparation programme, ‘With You Always’. Family Catechesis is a method of catechesis that supports the 'domestic church' by assisting parents and carers in leading their own children in the lifelong call to holiness within the community of the church. 

Parents '...will be the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith. May they also be the best of teachers bearing witness to the faith by what they say and do...' (Rite of Baptism)

Our children make their First Holy Communion in a wide range of parishes including, but not limited to: St Joseph's, St Helen's, SS Peter and Paul's and the Parish of Oscar Romero (St Edmund's and Star of the Sea)
