We have been busy updating our year group pages as a way of keeping in touch with you and your children. Visit www.ursulineprimary.co.uk/about-us/year-group-pages and then click into the year group(s) you need.
Each year group page is updated throughout the week by year group staff. We are aiming to provide a range of activities for children to complete whether they are working online or not. Please be aware that the date on the page reflects the date that it was first posted online but does not reflect when it was updated.
If you complete any activities and want to share them, please send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to see what you are doing together at home!
We are adding lots of activities to Purple Mash. Look in the 2Dos section to find work that has been set by classroom staff. Don't forget to explore the other areas. There are many more creative tools and activities to try.
Be aware that some Purple Mash activities (especially the maths and phonics games) automatically save. The scores are visible to school staff when they have been completed. For most other activities, please remember to return to 2Dos and then click the Hand In button when an activity is finished.
We will be publishing a small selection of completed Purple Mash work on virtual display boards on the lower part of our class pages. Have a look and see what our children are getting up to!
We have been adding more Bug Club books in Active Learn. The bug icons within the book provide short questions and activities. Some are phonics or spelling based but many of them require answers about the text.
Please remind your child(ren) to return to the book when answering these questions, rather than making a best guess. When staff login they will then see green marks on the teacher website, showing that the answer is based on the text and not a guess.
As well as Bug Club, there are now other activities available for us to set in Active Learn. Keep looking in as you may see some maths, phonics, spelling, grammar or science activities appear in other tabs over the coming weeks.
Whatever you are doing at home we hope you are enjoying some reading together. If you feel like enjoying listening to a story time together have a look at the Oxford Owl Storyteller Videos. Audible have released a wide range of audiobooks to stream for free.
Keeping safe online
We know that children may be spending more time online while school is closed. There is a lot of support available online. Here are just a few useful links:
• Thinkyouknow (advice from the National Crime Agency to stay safe online)
• Internet matters (support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online)
• Parent info (support for parents and carers to keep their children safe online)
• Net-aware (support for parents and careers from the NSPCC)
LGFL have produced a helpful guide to online safety during the closure period. Click here to download it.
Other learning links
We have continued to add more links to the lower part of the year group pages, including yoga, science, music, PE and more. Have a look - you might find something interesting.
Thank you very much for the support you've shown us. We really appreciate the many kind messages that have been sent in.
We are continuing to monitor messages and provide support through email@example.com. This is monitored as often as possible between 9am and 5pm.
